2021: Trends in Furniture & Color

This is a trend that even the least trendy home will incorporate. Because, hey, we’re all still at home. And that sofa that has now become your Zoom boardroom/content binge station/Instagram upload spot, is gaining a lot of mileage. Make sure it feels nice to sit on. Experts suggest bringing in round furniture to create a comfortable look and feel.  

Vibrant colors are making a comeback as more and more people continue to be bored at home. Rich, saturated hues like ruby and jewel colors like sapphire help refresh and reinvigorate the space. Don’t be afraid to be bold.  

Lighter more airy woods such as oak will be popular. They help brighten up the space and bring an element of the outdoors in. They also blend seamlessly into any existing style and are easy to work around.

Styles like the grandmillennial took off in 2020 and are predicted to stick around for 2021. Blending modern design with traditional comforts, the trend not only lends itself to nostalgia, but is also very cost effective. As more and more people repurpose older furniture verses buying new pieces.

The 80’s. Yes, the 80’s are back. But before you unpack your leg warmers, subtle accent pieces are the way to rebirth this vintage trend. Incorporating the shapes and materials from way back when like angular lines, glass and stone can give you that retro feel that you, like, totally didn’t know you wanted. Trends are a great starting point to create your own fashion statement.
